KERALA FLOOD RELIEF
The 'August Apocalypse in God's Own Country' rattled the whole nation. The unprecedented rain brought the state to a grinding halt. But the devastation instantaneously urged people from all walks of life to extend a helping hand to the severely affected.
Our School in collaboration with Goonj, an NGO collected Relief Material for the refugees housed in several schools and marriage halls in Kerala.
Students volunteered to offer with clothes for young children, women and teenagers, groceries, toiletries, mosquito nets and even torches, tarpaulin and nylon ropes.
On 23rd August, 2018, the contributions were collected at the school. The material was segregated, packed and handed over to the NGO at its office premises in Kovilambakkam.
The benevolent gesture of the parents, students and staff is bound to make a remarkable difference to the flood affected victims in Kerala.
The voluntary contribution made by the students clearly highlighted the Value of Empathy and Compassion that the School fosters among the students in their daily interaction in School and put into practice even beyond the School walls.
