CELEBRATION OF RAMANUJAN DAY FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2024 - 25

Mathematics is not just about numbers; it is a language that explains the mysteries of the universe and the foundation of countless discoveries. To honour the legendary Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, whose contributions continue to inspire Mathematicians worldwide, D.A.V. Public School, Chennai, organized a vibrant Ramanujan Day Celebration.

On 8 January 2025, the event took place on the Assembly Ground from 8:40 a.m. to 9:10 a.m. and was hosted by the students of Class VII, highlighting the importance of Mathematics in everyday life and commemorating the life and contributions of the great mathematician and social reformer, Srinivasa Ramanujan. The programme commenced with divine chanting of Gayathri Mantra followed by the D.A.V. Gaan. Iniya.J of Std. VII - C welcomed the gathering.

The event featured contributions from various classes.

Class IX presented a captivating skit, ‘Ramanujan's Realm: A Mathematical Prodigy's Tale’, the brief, yet impactful narrative, shed light on the life, struggles, and groundbreaking contributions of the legendary Mathematician, motivating everyone present to appreciate his legacy.

Class VI explored ‘Mathematical Wonders Around Us’, introducing surprising mathematical insights and practical applications in everyday objects.

Class V highlighted the ‘Importance of Shapes in Daily Life’, demonstrating how geometry plays a significant role in architecture, design, and technology.

The event ended with a thought-provoking skit titled ‘Math is Omnipresent’, presented by the students of Class VII. The performance creatively illustrated the omnipresence of Mathematics, showcasing how it influences everything from nature and technology to daily decision-making. The students effectively conveyed their message with relatable scenarios, engaging the audience by sparking curiosity about Mathematics.

The well-coordinated and informative event displayed the talent and dedication of the students and their teachers. It served as a fitting tribute to Srinivasa Ramanujan and an inspiring reminder of the beauty and importance of Mathematics in all aspects of life.

The comperes Nishitha Arvind and Sowjanya of Std.VII added feathers to the celebration with their presence of thoughts about the event. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Shivani of Class VII - E. The efforts of Class VII students and their teachers were evident in the seamless execution of the program, leaving the audience inspired and appreciative.
