Teacher’s Day Spent in the Midst of Nature

99 Teachers and 14 Ministerial Staff of D.A.V. Public School, Chennai spent the day in the midst of nature on September 5, 2024. The break from the normal humdrum in school brought out the child in them at Green Coconut Resorts, ECR, Chennai.

The sprawling lush green lawns, play area, auditorium and dining space at Green Coconut Resorts was just the much needed break from monotony to ‘replenish and rejuvenate’.The hand-picked location for the day assured unlimited fun and frolic.

The recreative day witnessed the staff hosting and participating in a volley of events. The enjoyable day commenced with a soulful prayer and a formal welcome. Any healthy competition must begin with ‘Music and Masti’ so to say the day was no exception! The staff challenged their counterparts and put their voice boxes and their quick memory of songs to the test. The repertoire of talent unraveled so naturally for all the vocalists.

The Dumb Charades was a show stealer. All the ‘actors’ vied for their turns to guess the most   weird and quirky movies. Some unimaginable movies like ‘Nanuki Janu’ and ‘Matruki Bijilee ka Mandola’ and many more brought out the acting prowess of the staff. 

The acting and music was topped by some fantastic dance.  Adept tune challenged all the amateur and proficient dancers to team up and dance in sync to a mash up of various genres. The riveting dance moves by a few teams had everyone asking for more.

A Prop Dance and Fashion Walk was a beauty pageant with a kink. Interesting props and graceful gaits set the mood for more entertainment. The ramp walk with the ‘one day models’ was indeed a sophisticated fashionista.

A Fun Quiz tested trivia from different fields. Palindromes, Connections and puzzles had the revelers contest with high levels of enthusiasm. 

A few games were played, but the smash hit was the ‘Treasure Hunt’ organized by the Physical Education Department.

The Celebration was a double bonanza as Principal, Mrs. Sujatha M was honoured at the hands of Governor of TamilNadu, Hon’ble Shri R. N. Ravi for her invaluable Contribution to the field of Education. A Cake and a sumptuous meal added flavor and merriment to the Celebration.

In the Formal Address by the Principal, she said, “The Teaching Profession is a noble profession and Students look up to teachers as role models.” She expressed her appreciation for the dedicated service of the DAVites and said a creative approach to the students will help in dealing with the present generation.
