WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY - 2025-26

“Small acts, big impact - save the environment”

The United Nations established “World Environment Day” on June 5th during the 1972 Stockholm Conference on Human Environment. To commemorate this day, our school organized a special event on June 18, 2025, to raise awareness about the importance of adopting sustainable practices that promote living in harmony with nature.

The students of Class X hosted a vibrant celebration of “World Environment Day”, centered around the theme ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’. The program was skillfully hosted by Jiya Sarawati Suresh of X B and Abu John Varghese of X A.

The programme commenced with the invocation of the Gayatri Mantra, followed by the DAV Gaan. B. Swedha of XB warmly welcomed the gathering, highlighting the significance of the day. Akshaya Lakshmi delivered an insightful presentation on the importance of “World Environment Day”.

Students of Class X stole the show with their mesmerizing dance performance, perfectly choreographed to the theme song of World Environment Day! Their energy, enthusiasm, and passion for the environment shone through in every step, adding a vibrant and creative touch to the celebration.

The Earth was deeply concerned about the devastating impact of human activities, but it found solace in the students' thought-provoking displays and presentations during the 'Gallery Walk,' which highlighted the negative and positive impacts on the planet.

Ms. Suma Mary and Ms. Uma S provided valuable feedback, appreciating the students' efforts. Lakshitha of Std. X-C proposed a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Principal, Incharges, Teachers, and all participants.

The program concluded with the National Anthem, followed by a soulful rendition of Shanti Paat, reinforcing the spirit of unity and peace. The celebration served as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility towards the planet, inspiring students to become eco-conscious citizens.
