INTER - SCHOOL CULTURAL FEST ON 06.07.2023 (Saturday)
The One Day Inter School Cultural Fest –AGE, Acronym for Avant Garde Essence - 2024 was hosted by D.A.V. Public School, Velachery, Chennai on 6th July, 2024 in the School Premises.
Student Competitors from 18 C.B.S.E. Schools made a beeline to the Premises of DAVPS on the bright morning of the First Saturday of July along with student spectators of the Host School from Classes IX and X, Volunteers of Std XI and XII and Teachers who cherished the day long, frolic and healthy competition.
The Inaugural Ceremony was presided over by Ms. Vinaita Sivakumar, Playback Singer The Music Diva was thrilled to interact with the lively students and sang two popular songs that left the young students ‘vibing and jiving’. She said that Schools give the right atmosphere for students to identify their talent and they should exploit every opportunity and follow their heart. She also said the happiness quotient is so important for making the student’s lives purposeful.
12 Events tested a medley of skills ranging from Eloquence to Directional Ability, Quizzing to Penalty Kicks and Raising voice against Social Injustice to Colourful mosaics on canvas. More than 452 Participants enthusiastically contested for earning the top berth and the coveted prizes.
The Valedictory Ceremony was decorated by the gracious presence of the young and ‘happening’ Music Composer of Tamil Cine Field, Nivas K Prasanna. In his address, he said that participation is what holds the key to the right exposure. He invited students to join him for two commercial hits. The encore performance reverberated among the students.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony was the Cynosure of the Evening. The contestants waited with bated breath to have their names pronounced and when they did, it was thrills all the way.
Sunshine School, Puzhuthivakkam lifted the Overall Winning Championship Trophy, while St Britto’s Academy, Velachery and P.S.B.B. K.K. Nagar, Chennai were the First and Second Runner Up for their consolidated tally of points in all the events.
The One Day Event was a day to remember for both the invitees and the Organisers. The Camaraderie exhibited by all the students surpassed the spirit of competition and the urge to win.
