Annual Inter-School Cultural Fest of D.A.V. Public School Chennai – “AGE  2025”

The Inter-School Cultural Fest “Avant Garde Essence - AGE 2025” was held on 5 July, 2025 at D.A.V. Public School, Velachery, Chennai. The Annual Event aims to promote cultural exchange, showcase student talent, encourage creative expression and build camaraderie among the young learners of Std XI and XII from different schools.

The one day Carnival witnessed enthusiastic participation from 16 C.B.S.E. Schools across the city and 465 students vying for the top three positions in each contest.

The invigorating invocation song - Ganesha Vandana in a Punjabi Composition marked the auspicious beginning of the Event and was followed by the lighting of the lamp and a Classical Dance, “Symphony of Nature” by the Host School depicting the Sapta swaras and their adaptations from Animal sounds. ‘Pixel’, the Mascot of AGE 2025 added an element of fun and mystery.

The Inaugural Ceremony was  presided over by the Chief Guest, Mr. Sai Vignesh, renowned Carnatic Musician and  Playback Singer. In the Inaugural Address, Mr. Sai Vignesh urged the students to be disciplined and committed to their passion. He said persistent efforts and conviction alone will turn our dreams into reality. The beautiful rendition of the Chartbuster hits Kurumugil & Varaha Roopam set the tone for a vibrant and colourful day.

The Cultural Fest featured an array of 12 competitions where all the contestants from each school displayed extraordinary talent, creativity, and team spirit, making the event a visual and intellectual treat. Eminent personalities from the respective fields judged the events.

Group Dance was a feast to the senses as scintillating performances on dance styles from different eras set the stage on fire.  The flashy costumes and rhythmic choreography had the spectators asking for more of the Synchronized Foot work.  

Teams of Four featured ‘House of Gucci’, what fashion might look like 100 years from now in the Fashion Show. The parade transported the Audience into the Realms of fashion in the future.

Whiplash, a musical bonanza was a toast to the ears with the Mellifluous Vocalists accompanied by the instrumentalists.

The Football teams from more than 15 Schools put their agility and strategy  to test in FUTSAL, the all time favourite of boys.

Trailer Edit was for the movie buffs who explored their collaborative and creativity skills.

Street Theatre was scripted stories to highlight Social Issues through thought provoking dialogues and powerful histrionics.

Wisdom Wars was an acid test of the geniuses who keep abreast with current affairs and  had general knowledge on their finger tips. ‘Voice Over – The Live Dubbing’ was an invitation to contestants to weave wonders with words and humour.

Venture Vortex and The Verdict were a battle of the brains. The pitch for products and the legal battle innovatively won the ‘investors’ and the ‘magistrates’.

The Artists galore ‘Blade Runner 2049 – Art Based on Fantasy & Imagination’ was a sheer exhibition of contemporary and futuristic colours and   contours on canvas. The new add

ition ‘IPL Bid War’, demonstrated to students the necessity for strategic planning and financial management.

The Valedictory Ceremony was graced by Dr. Kalaimamani Shri. Dhina, Music Composer and  AMD Dr. V K Venkatesan, Film Producer & Panel Member CBFC. Dr. Shri. Dhina, in his closing speech, praised the students' efforts and emphasized the importance of cultural education alongside academics. Both the Guests presented the Trophies and Certificates to the winners.

The Overall Championship trophy was lifted by St. John’s Public School, Jalladianpet, Medavakkam. St. Britto’s Academy, Velachery and Sunshine Chennai Senior Secondary School, Puzhuthivakkam bagged the First and Second  Runners-up trophy respectively.
