TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION - 2022

Teacher’s Day 2022 was celebrated with gaiety on 5 September by the staff and students of D.A.V Public School, Chennai. The Entertainment programme in honour of the Charismatic Principal, Assiduous Supervisory in Charges and Heroic Teachers and Ministerial Staff was hosted by the students of Std XII. Student Representatives of Std XII shouldered the responsibility of  hosting the cultural show and conducting  sprightly games for their beloved staff members.

The heightened excitement of the students was felt from the word go. Each episode of the Cultural Programme distinguished the  role of the Educator in the lives of the students.

Samhita Ganesan of XII A highlighted the theme of the year 2022- शिक्षक:बढ़ते संकट के बीच भविष्य की नई कल्पना: (Teachers: leading in crisis, reimagining the future). She recounted the episode of the humility  from Dr. Sarvepalli  Radhakrishnan’s life, inspiring the spectators to emulate the great values of  the Renowned teachers from all over the country. She was joined by Chandru. B who recited a touching Tamil Poem dedicated to the teachers.

The thought-provoking Teacher’s Day message from Shri Prabodh Mahajan, Vice President, D.A.V.C.M.C, New Delhi and School’s Chairman was the main focus in the formal proceeding. The message urged the teachers to shape the character of the students, teach them to be wise, protect the child’s mind and keep pace with technology. It also urged the parents to have an important  stake in moulding  children into  Noble persons.

A beautiful dance choreographed by Surekha S.N of Std XII was presented by the petite  Eleventh graders much to the euphoria of the teachers and their peers. The graceful dancers in their immaculate white and gliding moves was an extravagance of delight.

Vintage Vibes, an assortment of retro songs found the teachers humming along and asking for more of the harmonious beats of the yesteryears. While the Music Divas stole the hearts of the audience, the instrumentalists, S. P. Anvita  and  Rishi Rithesh of Std XI spelt magic with their  rhythmic interlude.

Light Notes, a Mime was an energetic portrayal of the unwavering passion of teachers in sculpting the lives of their students. The actors with their realistic performance paid a fitting tribute to their champions at School.

On the Floor was an open invitation to the teachers and students to showcase their dancing prowess. The frenzied dance moves of the teacher and the taught was unstoppable and brought bright smiles and loud cheers.  The movers and groovers of Dance Dhamaka rallied to the beats of a mash up and was a  total ‘toast to the  senses’.

The student moderators had a volley of fun activities lined up for the teachers. The all time favourites- Dumb Charades and Fashionista ruled the roost. Off stage sporting events was a test of the agility and endurance of all the staff members. Throw ball matches and Rangoli for the female staff, Volleyball matches, Shot put and 50 Meters sprint for the male members saw an overwhelming participation and an equal number of prizes given away to the faster, stronger and creative.

A sumptuous lunch was hosted by the School.  The vegetarian platter and the light moments completed the ‘package’ of a multi- entertainer day. The students made the occasion extra special with gratitude cards and the auspicious Tulsi (Basil) Plant and other medicinal plants.  given away to their beloved teachers.
