REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS BY CLASS IX

The 73rdRepublic Day was celebrated virtually with great éclat by glorifying the spirit of patriotism and unity.

The Masters of the Ceremony, Priyadharshini S of IX A and Vandhana P.R. of IX E, vivaciously commenced the show with Republic Day greetings.

The program started with the prayer by Sowmya B of IX D. Unfurling of the National flag by our School Physical Education Department was a big moment of the Republic Day celebrations. Everyone saluted the National flag and pledged to uphold its honour and integrity. This was followed by National Anthem.

Students of Class IX presented the patriotic Tamil flag song. The gathering was welcomed by Raajadithyan of Class IX D with a brief note on the importance of the celebration of Republic Day. Republic Day Quiz 2022 was conducted by Karthik Soni of Class XII A on Republic Day Parade, its history and significance.

Students of Class VI -Trijal S of VI A and Swetha B VI B presented a documentary on ‘Valiant Little Indians’ Jyothi Kumari, Kunwar Divyansh, Kameshwar Jagannath Waghmare of their meritorious acts of bravery against all odds who were the Awardees of Pradhan Mantri Bal Puraskar for their outstanding accomplishments.

Students of Class VI - Yukta N of VII D, Nikita of VII B and Yatin S of VII C presented ‘Intriguing Facts about the Indian Constitution’. They brought out the facts about Country’s Constitution and the women who helped to draft the Indian Constitution as the members of Constituent Assembly. The Constitution was calligraphed by Mr. Prem Behari Narain Raizada in flowing Italic style.

Students of Class VIII extended a heartfelt gratitude to the women members of the Constituent Assembly. A brief note on Ammu Swaminathan, Dakshayani Velayudhan, Durgabai Deshmukh, Begum Aizaz Rasul, Hansa Jivraj Mehta were beautifully brought into focus of everyone. Behind every successful woman is a Tribe of other successful women.

Students of Class IX commemorated Mr. Prem Bihari Narain Raizada, a notable calligrapher who hand-wrote the Constitution of India. His short biography and the elaborated Constitution of India were handwritten in English and Hindi on the pages uniquely decorated by artists from Shantiniketan. Pages were embellished with highly stylized decorative borders, headers and backdrops. The complex patterns in the borders and in the front and back covers, embossed in gold on leather, are reminiscent of the Ajanta murals and Bagh Caves were beautifully enlightened to the audience as a short film.

Students of Class X sang “Aye Mere Watan Ke Logon” India’s most favourite patriotic song to commemorate the Indian soldiers who died during the Sino-Indian war reverberated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.

Class XI and XII showcased a dance show on India’s ‘Unity in Diversity’ and portrayed how traditional meets modern, folk meets contemporary, in a melting pot of styles and rhythms added splendour through their performance.

Being the 75th year of Independence, the country is celebrating the 73rdRepublic Day under the broader ambit of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. A short video was presented that highlighted the glimpse of activities under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiated by the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of Progressive India and the Glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.

The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Lokesh N.S of IX-B, and the Shanti Paat was recited by S. Sree Niharika of  IX-E.
