Pongal, the harvest festival of Tamil Nadu was celebrated with fervour and enthusiasm at both at Main School and Vatika Premises. The Celebration ushered in the festival with a lot of gaiety.

The festivity started with the DAV Gaan and School Prayer followed by a variety of programmes lined up for the day. The hosts, Std. V welcomed the gathering in the traditional style.

It was followed by a Harvest Dance presented by Std. II. The tiny tots, all dressed up in the traditional attire transported the audience to the rural locales.

A fusion song by Std. III based on the folklores had the audience cheering enthusiastically and encouraging the dancers to tap their feet.

A graceful dance by the students of Std. IV impressed the audience and was a precursor to the festivity.

In a special presentation, Std. V highlighted the special features of the variants of the harvest festival celebrated all over India. A Narrative about each custom of the Pongal celebration was punctuated with songs and dance.

The festive mood was felt at the Vatika premises too. A multi lingual speech on Pongal Festival gave a background to the celebration.

Melodious English and Tamil songs based on the harvest festival filled the air.  ‘Little Butterflies’ performed the ‘Kummi’. The Bhangra dance was also performed to depict the festivity of ‘Lohri’.
