ROAD SAFETY WEEK – 2022-23
‘The Road Safety Week’ is observed every year from January 11th to January 17th by the Ministry of Highways and Roadways, Government of India. As Per C.B.S.E. Circular dated 10.01.2023, Observance of Road Safety Week under Swachhata Pakhwada was conducted in the School from 11.01.23 to 17.01.23.
The week long commemoration witnessed the Students of Std V to VII crusade for the cause of ‘Road Consciousness’. Pranav.S of Std. V ‘B’ elucidated on ‘Road Safety’ through a speech during the Morning Assembly. He stressed on the importance of following Road Signs and practising better etiquette on the Roads.
Students of Std IV spread awareness on Road Discipline during their Class Assembly. Students from classes V to VII made colourful Posters depicting different Road Signs.
They participated in a free ‘Online Traffic Quiz’. The Quiz created awareness among the young Students about Safe Driving Rules, Traffic Rules and Road Safety. The Informative Quiz not only tested their knowledge of the Road Rules but also earned them recognition for their acts of responsibility. The enthusiastic quizzers completed three levels of the online quiz on Road Safety Rules and Regulations and won certificates.
As ‘Road Safety Ambassadors’ of D.A.V. Public School , Students made badges and pinned them on, to create awareness among their peers in the campus. The Students also visited other classes to stress on the importance of road safety. Students and Teachers took an oath to be responsible and were asked to write a quote / message on the white board.
The ‘Citizens of Tomorrow’ made an appeal to all the teachers and other staff to wear helmets and also to follow all the traffic rules for their safety.
