INVESTITURE CEREMONY - 2024

Student Council of D. A. V. Public School Sworn in

The Swearing in Ceremony of the Student Council of D. A. V. Public School for the Academic Year 2024-25 was held on 1^st July, 2024 at the School premises.

Smt. Vijayalakshmi Srivatsan, Mentor Academic, PSBB Group of Schools and Former Principal, P.S. Senior School, Mylapore, Chennai and the Regional Officer of D.A.V. Public School, Mrs. Minoo Aggarwal inducted the Council Members for the Academic Year   2024-25 in the grand event.

41 Students from Std XI and XII who self-nominated themselves for the 16 Cabinet posts in the Student Council contested on two days. After a frenzied campaigning, ‘Popularity Run’ and the Interview, the 16 Candidates were elected to the prestigious posts.

The Formal Welcome of Smt. Vijayalakshmi Srivatsan was followed by the Ceremonial Pinning of the Badges and Induction Ceremony. Impressive Badges, Chivalric Sashes and the Accessories marked the traditional Statute of the Order of the School Cabinet in the presence of the Dignitaries, Ecstatic Grandparents and Parents, Staff and the Voters from Std IX-XII.

In her Address to the young leaders, Smt. Vijayalakshmi said ‘Leadership is synonymous with Integrity and Accountability’ and highlighted the essence of ‘Collective Leadership’ to work in a framework and be aware of the needs of the student body. She also said that the responsibility of the Leaders is to sow the seeds of transformation to restore Justice, Peace and Camaraderie.

Smt. Minoo Aggarwal shared her experiences as the Founder Principal of the School and said ‘A leader is not a mere bridge between the Management and the School but they work in tandem with the School. She also emphasised that the Student Leaders should carry the honour of the School. She encouraged all the Students to play the role of a leader, quoting the T20 Finals and the ‘Rohit Sharma Chant’.

The Ceremonial Parade invigorated the audience and instilled a sense of Confidence, while the Members developed a sense of pride that will urge them to work together at a professional level.

Aniruddh  Krishnan  School Pupil Leader - Boys administered the Oath and was joined by the Cabinet.

In the Voice of the Council, Aniruddh Krishnan expressed his views on ‘Leadership is not a journey to rise in the ranks but is a journey to help those around us rise’.

N. M. Tejal, the Assistant School Pupil Leader - Girls shed light on, “Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower” and the third voice was from Kanishka, the Cultural Secretary who impressed upon the audience that, “It is fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure”.

The School Pupil Leader Girls, Karthika .P.K. proposed the Vote of Thanks on behalf of the School Cabinet. The Office Bearers vowed to live up to the expectations of the School Management at all times and “Will Lead from the front, focusing on the essence of leadership and unity.”
