INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATIONS
“Yoga means addition – addition of strength, energy and beauty to mind, body and soul”
DAV Public School has always endeavoured to cater to the development of the all – round personality of its students – imparting knowledge, developing skills and instilling values. This was reflected in the variety of events organized by the School as a part of 8th International Yoga Day Celebrations.
On 03.06.2022, a few Students and Staff members visited ‘Good Life Centre Home for Homeless Children’, Tambaram, Chennai. The Children of the Home were taught simple Yogassanas. Our students interacted with them and as a special gesture School bags were donated to all of them.
‘Sahaja Yoga Meditation’ was demonstrated for students of Class 10 and 12 on the same day. The Members of ‘The Sahaja Yoga Meditation Association, Shri. Deepak Nithyanandam, Smt. Rajameena Deepak, Smt. Radha Baskar and Smt. Sowmya highlighted the importance of ‘Sahaja Yoga’ in everyday life.
A Special Workshop on ‘Yoga for Overall Well Being’ was conducted on 11. 06. 2022 for the Residents of Cee Dee Yes Regal Palm Garden, a gated community in the neighbourhood of our School. Yoga Therapists, Ms. Lakshmi Prabha and Ms. Latha from ‘Faculty of Yoga Sciences and Therapy’ (FYST), Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research taught the participants simple breathing and relaxing techniques for a stress free life. The participants appreciated the School’s initiative in organizing such awareness programs and thanked our Principal for the care and arrangements.
The International Yoga Day Celebration was conducted in our School on 21.06.2022. The Mass Yoga Session was presided over by Dr.Venkatakrishnan.L, Yoga Tutor, Founder and Director of Yoga Kendra, Adambakkam, Chennai. Students performed advanced Yogassanas on the stage and explained the health benefits of doing Yoga in daily life.
