HUMAN RIGHTS AND FUNDAMENTAL DUTIES DAY CELEBRATIONS
The Human Rights Day, is the day on which the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. This day is marked every year on 10th December.
To commemorate this, the Human Rights and Fundamental Duties Day was celebrated on 18th December 2021 to remind humanity the rights they deserve and the rights they violate. The day raised awareness about people’s social, cultural, political and religious rights. The day’s programme revolved around the theme Equality- ‘All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.’
The programme commenced with the chanting of divine Gayathri Mantra. The Welcome Address was delivered by Dakshini.S of X-D followed by the Introduction Speech on significance of celebrating Human Rights Day by Kirshantana of X-C.
The young and charming eighth graders performed an electrifying ‘Street Play’ which portrayed the message to discharge the fundamental duties laid down by the Indian Constitution to help our nation become a better place to live in. The enthusiastic students of Class IX enlightened the audience about the role of activism in protection of Human Rights through a game ‘Shipwreck’.
The Power Point Presentation, by the students of Class X, with mind blowing caricatures depicted the ‘Significance of Global Rights’. The documentary video on ‘Preventing Violations and Strengthening Protection of Human Rights’ by the students of Class XI was thought provoking.
The Human Rights Day Celebration came to an end with the Vote of Thanks and Shanti Paat.
