National Literacy Day was celebrated on 4th September, 2019 to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad.

The D.A.V Gaan and Gayatri Mantra marked the beginning of the ‘educational and enlightening’ programme.

A mime, 'Education for Success' by Std X and XI depicted the developments made by India in all the domains and attributed it to the widespread awareness of Education.

The mime highlighted that 'illiteracy' and 'ignorance' needs to be completely wiped out for any nation to become a holistic and welfare state.

The life story of Late Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, Former President and Scientist portrayed that with Education as a tool, all obstacles and hardships that come in the way of an individual's life can be razed to the ground.

A thought provoking debate in Tamil'Kalviya, Selvama?' made the audience weigh the importance of Knowledge over wealth.

The celebration encouraged the students to spread the light of knowledge among the uneducated and reiterated the importance of education in the globally competitive world.
