CASCADING WORKSHOP ON INTEGRATING MATHEMATICS IN ALL SUBJECTS BY EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

A Workshop on Integrating Mathematics in all subjects was cascaded to the teachers of  Learning and to integrate Mathematics in all subjects through inter disciplinary activities.   

She commenced the session with a brief introduction of Padmashree Mr. Arvind Gupta, an Indian Toy Inventor and Expert in Science. She said Mr. Gupta had created simple toys from trash and used them extensively to teach Mathematical Concepts.

The Videos shown during the Workshop gave an idea to the beginners and creative people who are interested in making such toys. It also stressed on the fact that new and challenging concepts of Maths and Science can be taught in a fun-filled, innovative and entertaining way.

The types of toys that were discussed covered a wide variety of topics. Flying Toys were used to strengthen concepts on Electricity and Magnetism.  Spinning Toys and Paper Toys enabled a better understanding of the Concepts of Pressure, Light, Sound and Newtonian Concepts,. His toys turn recycled waste material into seriously entertaining, yet well designed devices that students can create themselves while learning the basic Principles of Science and Design.

Origami, a Paper Craft that can be used as a tool for Experiential Learning was also demonstrated.

The Session concluded with an amazing action story using an old Newspaper Sheet that was used for making four different Caps, a Ship and finally a Life – Jacket.
