WORLD AIDS DAY - 2022
"He who cures a disease may be the most skilled, but he who prevents it is the safest Physician" – Thomas Fuller
The World Aids Day programme that was hosted by the 7th graders started with the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra, followed by the welcome speech by the English teacher welcoming the Chief Guest of the Day, Dr. A Pushparani, an anesthesiologist working in SRM, Katttakolathur. Students of Std. VII explained in detail the structure of the HIV virus and the way it replicates, causing the disease. A discussion on performance-enhancing drugs in relation to AIDS was clearly and creatively explained by the students of Std. VI.
Dr. A. Pushparani, the eminent guest for the day, started her speech with a question to the audience to state the difference between HIV and AIDS. She laid stress on the causes and prevention of the disease. She also explained the ways to keep ourselves protected and safe. Dr. Pushparsni demonstrated the use and disposal of hand gloves. Her speech was very informative, educative, and useful for all of us. We all promised to keep her word and follow it for our safety.
The programme came to an end with Samyuktha A and Kavish C of Std. VII D proposing the Vote of Thanks.
