To Commemorate 75th Independence Day and Har Ghar Tiranga Program (15.08.2022)
To commemorate the 75th Independence Day, C.B.S.E ushered in a series of activities in 2021 to spread awareness among students about our country’s Rich Heritage, Freedom Struggle, Unsung Heroes, Places of Importance and the Milestone Events.
This nationwide campaign- Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav - AKAM spanning one year of the Diamond Jubilee of India’s Independence brought together the whole nation and encouraged all the citizens to delve deep into the travails of Indian Independence.
The students of D.A.V. Public School, Velachery, Chennai participated enthusiastically in the year- long activities. The zeal for the contests was proof enough of the national fervour imbibed by the students.
The first fortnight of August witnessed the commitment of the staff and students to the solidarity of the country as all the DAVites participated in the medley of events that included, Quiz, Debate, Essay Writing, Poster Making and many more.
The Prabhat Pherie- Flag March by the students of Std IX emulated the great leaders and invited the onlookers to join the students in their Rally for ‘Mera India Anokha Jahan’.
As a culmination of AKAM, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi announced a rare program, Har ghar Tiranga. The drive sanctioned each resident to hoist the National Flag in their homes by upholding the Flag code.
The School took relentless efforts to disseminate the salient features of the Flag Code of India 2002 and the FAQs through the School Parent Messaging/ Communication Portal for the
Har ghar Tiranga program. All 3127 students and 154 teaching and ministerial staff hoisted the National Flag between 13th and 15th August, 2022 in their respective homes and also uploaded the ‘selfies’ on the dedicated website.
The tricolor hoisted atop each home was a sight to behold and a memory to cherish in the years to come.
