SCHOOL ANNUAL DAY CELBRATION 2024 - 25
The Annual Day Celebration of D.A.V. Public School, Velachery, Chennai-42 was held on 25th October, 2024 at Kamarajar Arangam, Teynampet, Chennai – 600 006. Shri Prabodh Mahajan, Chairman, School Managing Committee and Vice President, D.A.V. College Managing Committee, New Delhi, presided over the Annual Day Celebration. The School’s Manager, and Honorary Treasurer, D.A.V. College Managing Committee Shri. Nanak Chand, Smt. Minoo Aggarwal, Regional Officer, D.A.V. Schools, S.A. Zone A graced the occasion with their august presence.
Members of the School Managing Committee and Principals from D.A.V. Schools in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka also attended the Grand Function. Shri. Nanak Chand accorded a warm welcome to the gathering and highlighted the significance of the D.A.V. Movement and shared about the innovative initiatives implemented by D.A.V.C.M.C. to foster the rapport between students and School leadership to create a more supportive environment. He also brought to limelight the D.A.V. Alumni who have brought laurels to the country and are giving back to the society through various community outreach programmes. He appreciated the Outstanding Academic Achievements of the School among all DAV Schools at the National Level.
In the Keynote Address, Shri. Prabodh Mahajan said “ D.A.V. Movement is a Reformation Movement that empowers students with knowledge ,equips them with technological skills and prepares them to work for a society that can be freed of all social evils.” He stressed upon the contribution made by the great visionaries of the D.A.V. Movement and urged all the DAVites to become अच्छे इंसान to take the country forward on the path of righteousness. He urged the Parents and Teachers to inculcate moral values at an early age and said, “Without Character, Knowledge is a curse”. He also added that the ‘pocket friend’- the mobile phone along with the information overload is taking a toll on the emotional quotient and social skills of students. He said with intervention and quality time spent by parents, students can be brought ‘Back on Track’. He also congratulated the Regional Officer and the Principal for the new roles entrusted to them.
A Special Felicitation Ceremony was hosted by the D.A.V. Management in honour of the Founder Principal, Smt Minoo Aggarwal. A short documentary traced the milestone achievements during her tenure as Principal from the year 1990. Shri. Prabodh Mahajan and Shri. Nanak Chand felicitated Mrs. Minoo Aggarwal and showered their blessings for her unparalleled contribution to education in the last 34 years at the helm of the School affairs.
In the Felicitation Speech, Smt. Minoo Aggarwal expressed her deepest gratitude to all the members of the DAV Parivar and implored the students and teachers to “Raise the Benchmark”. Mrs. Sujatha M, Newly Appointed Principal presented the Academic Achievements of the Students and Teachers during the Academic Year 2023-24. She congratulated all the bright achievers and the teachers for their untiring efforts and also commended the unstinted encouragement from the Parents of Std. X and Std. XII in accomplishing the praiseworthy School Results.
A Special Presentation – ‘Kaleidoscope of School’s Achievements and Activities’ featured the Awards received by the Students in International, National and State Level Contests both in Cultural and Sports Arena and the Admirable Feats of the students in Extra Curricular activities. More than 107 students of Std X and XII were felicitated by the Dignitaries for their Outstanding Academic Performance in the C.B.S.E. Examination held in February- March - 2024. 14 Subject Teachers who rigorously trained students to score Centum were also honoured. The Best Outgoing Student Award was presented in three Categories. Advaith Ramesh received the Best Outgoing Student Award for Academic Excellence. Krithya P was presented the Best Outgoing Student Award for Excellence in Co Scholastic Pursuits and Shrijith V received the Best Outgoing Student Award for Excellence in Sports.
10 Teaching Staff and 4 Non Teaching Staff were felicitated for their meritorious and dedicated service to the School. The Cultural Bonanza – Resplendence 2024 was a potpourri of Semi Classical and Western Dances, a Musical Symphony by the Alumni, a Patriotic Multilingual Montage and an insightful dance drama on the three qualities of human beings – Trigunas.
350 students of Std.VI–XI and a few Alumni set the stage ablaze with their resplendent performances.
