NATIONAL SPORTS DAY
NATIONAL SPORTS DAY was Celebrated on 28th August 2021 between 10:40 am to 11:20 am virtually and hosted by the students of class VII.
Major Dhyan Chand rightly said, “It is not my country’s duty to push me ahead. It is my duty to push my country ahead.”

National Sports Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and energy by DAVites, expressing the patriotism shown by Major Dhayan Chand and also by all the Tokyo Olympics winners of 2021.
The programme started with a prayer by Sri Balambigaa of VII B followed by an erudite welcome speech by Abhinav.V of VII B. This was followed by a PowerPoint presentation by the students of class V on the benefits of sports in education and how both sports and physical education have a positive impact on students. This was followed by a Street Play in Hindi showing how to improve the qualities in sports. Students of class VII displayed various games played during the festivals. Next was an informative session about the technical terms and specifications of sports by class IX students. Students of class 8 elaborated on the essence of sport accepting the success or defeat with humility, incorporating it in various sports through some video clippings. The programme came to an end with a mesmerising performance by the students of classes X, XI, and XII about their success in sports and tips to be fit during this pandemic. Vote of thanks was delivered by Tamil Selvan of VII D and Shanti paat by Ishita Jain of VII-A.
It was an excellent show by the students informing us all about sports and sportsmanship.
