ONAM CELEBRATIONS
Onam, reminiscent of Kerala’s agrarian past, the biggest harvest festival was celebrated with joy and enthusiasm in our School on 19th August 2021. Intricately decorated Pookalam ushered in the festive look of Onam.
The students from class VI to X entertained us by their vivid performances .‘A spectrum of Onam’ - a skit on the life of great king Mahabali performed by the students of class VI captured everyone’s attention. It also showed the significance of Onam and how the people of Kerala welcome Mahabali. Class VII students with their cooking talents ‘Onam Delicacy’ engrossed us with mouth-watering and colourful dishes. ‘Swagatham Mahabali’ Class VIII Students creatively decorated the pookalam that was unique and innovative. To make it more vibrant and a colourful programme, Class IX students entertained us with the dance ‘Onapattin Thallam Thullum’ to the melody of the popular Onam songs which enhanced the festive mood. And finally, Students of Class X enlightened us with the ‘Art Gallery’ which highlighted the rich culture and tradition of Kerala. For a short while, we were transported to Kerala.
