"Man must rise above the Earthto the top of the atmosphere and beyond – for only thus will  he fully understand the World in which he lives"  –Socrates

Our School, thus, ranks always on the top in providing such an opportunity to the young, budding astronomers. With the blessings of our beloved Principal Madam, the Astronomy Club sessions for the academic year 2018–19 commenced on 08.11.18 (Thursday) with the participation of 154 students.

An introductory session was held in A.V. Room for the participants from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The session was presided over by the SPACE educator Mr. Neeraj. The students were categorised into four groupsKrithika (43 students), Rohini (43 students), Swati (42 students) and Module-2 (26 students).

The Event Calendar of the club was discussed and the students were informed about the details of the their regular sessions.

Later, the session continued with the first batch Krithika  – from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The students were involved in discussions regarding the recent lunar eclipses and their photographs, National and International projects etc. The Club Members flooded the educator with queries on comets, meteors, asteroids etc. The session concluded with an activity 'The preparation of an Artificial Comet'. Students enjoyed the activity which indeed provided a big breakthrough in their knowledge of Science. The sessions for Rohini, Swati and Module-2 were conducted on 9th, 15th, and 16th of November 2018, respectively. Module-2 students had their "Advanced Rocketry" session and they were taught to construct their own rockets (SOYUZ, PSLV, SATURN-V). The session was really mind-blowing and the rocket launch by the Young Scientists of D.A.V. Public School coincided with the launch of GSLV MK3 D2 (GSAT-29) on 14.11.2018 by our ISRO Scientists.

The School wishes the young astronomers an adventurous journey into space.
