CELEBRATION OF WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
THEME: LAND RESTORATION, DESERTIFICATION AND DROUGHT RESILIENCE
World Environment Day is a global platform for inspiring positive change.The D.A.V family came together to observe World Environment Day on June 18, 2024 with great enthusiasm.

The day commenced with the Gayatri Mantra setting a serene environment for the day, followed by a series of activities to sensitize students on the need to safeguard our planet.

Samyuktha B and Amulya Sri Putta both from class VIII B accorded a welcome to the assembly of teachers and students.

Ms. Sofia L introduced the, Chief Guest Mrs. Bhavani Ramanathan, the Director of Geological Survey of India. Ms. Sujatha M, our Teacher In-charge presented a memento to the Guest. In her address, the Chief Guest shared her valuable insights about the value and importance of our environment.

Shreyashi Swain of class VIII B presented a Report about the activities that have been carried out as a part of Eco Club in our school during the past years. A brief introduction was given highlighting the theme of the year 2024.

The future poets, Adidev V Pai, Laksharra VS, Kirthuik Mohan, and Lohita V of Std VIII delivered an “Ode to the Environment” that was sketched meticulously by the Hindi Teacher, Ms. Hema Sarda.

Tanishka SP, Shree Harshini, Jenisha V, Sowjanya B, Nalin Nallasivam and Mithun S of Std VII together participated in a panel discussion on the topic “E- Waste Management and its significance”.

Students of Std IX presented a mesmerizing dance performance on, “Timeless beauty of Nature”.

This Commemoration of World Environment Day successfully raised awareness about the importance of greenery and the pivotal role of young Indians in the preservation of our planet.
