 INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FOREST AND WILDLIFE DAY 

The International Day of Forests, also known as World Forests Day, is celebrated each year on March 21st to raise awareness about the importance of forests and trees for the survival of humanity and the planet. The theme for 2023 is ‘Forests and Health’. International Day of Forests and Wildlife Day was celebrated on 28th July at DAV Public School, Velachery. The Celebration was hosted by the students of Std.VII.

  • The auspicious day began with a Prayer followed by Sadhana of Std. VII welcoming the gathering.
  • A fabulous skit was presented by the students of Class V on the Plight of Extinct Birds and the cause of their extinction.
  • Melodic Cavort- an attempt to show the importance to protect our biodiversity in the form of a dance was the next to come which was an exceptional presentation of team work by the students of class VI.
  • Students of class VII brought back the extinct animals alive and made them enact in the form of a Role Play through a skit named ‘Minu and Dino’.  
  • ‘Forests Fashionistas’ was the next program by the students of class VIII to show the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve in India in the form of a Ramp Walk.
  • Students of class IX enlightend the audience with the Do’s and Don’ts to be followed while visiting a National Park in India in the form of a talk show.
  • The Fascinating Facts about the Forest -  numerous benefits to both humans and the planet were unveiled with the help of placards by the students of class X
  • The Principal, Mrs. Minoo Aggarwal in her address, advised the students to protect the Flora and Fauna which in turn will take care of us.
  • Adidev and Mridula of Class VII were spontaneous and creative with their compering during the Celebration.
  • The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Anu Harshita of class VII.
  • The Celebration came to an end with a promise to conserve the environment, forests, and endangered animals.
