INVESTITURE CEREMONY - 2023

CORONATION OF COUNCIL MEMBERS 2023- 24

The ‘Investiture Ceremony’ of D.A.V. Public School, Velachery, Chennai of the Academic Year 2023-24 was organized on 3^rd July 2023 with great solemnity. The School Premises resonated the famous maxim, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”  The urge to exemplify Leadership was evident on the beaming faces of the 16 incumbents of the School Cabinet.

Dr. Venkatesan, Technical Consultant, Senior Scientist Grade, National Center For Coastal Research, Chennai and Adjunct Professor, University of Massachusetts- Dartmouth, USA presided over the Formal Ceremony and pinned the badges. He was joined by the Founder Principal, Mrs. Minoo Aggarwal, Academic Coordinator, Mrs. Rema Devi and  Senior Supervisory Head, Mrs. Sujatha M.

The Formal Welcome of Dr.Venkatesan was followed by the Ceremonial Pinning of the Badges and Induction Ceremony. Prestigious Badges, Chivalric Sashes and the paraphernalia marked the traditional Statute of the Order of the School Cabinet in the presence of the Dignitaries, Ecstatic Grandparents and Parents, Staff and the Voters from Std. IX-XII.

In his Address, Dr. Venkatesan encouraged the students to inculcate the spirit of enquiry, safeguard the Environment and Work for a better future. He said it is not important to have a dogma as much as engaging in practical actions to become Change Agents and Leaders in the true spirit.

The Sixteen Cabinet Members participated in the pageant and took the Oath of Allegiance. Each member diligently vowed to work tirelessly and serve the School and uphold its Dignity, and also pledged to fulfill their responsibilities to the best of their abilities. 

In the ‘Voice of the Student Council’, School Pupil Leader, Advaith Ramesh expressed his views on “Leadership Values Determine What Type of Leader You Want to be”. He shed light  on how the School Ethos and Value System help all the DAVites to emulate good leaders.

The Cultural Secretary, Rishi Rithesh voiced his views on “Great Leaders Do not Set out to be a Leader, They set out to Make a Difference”.  He cited examples from his personal life and School interactions to validate his stance.

Varsha B, Assistant School Pupil Leader convinced the keen listeners that “Cooperation is the Thorough Conviction that Nobody Can Get There Unless Everybody Gets There”.

The Former Council Members of 2022-23 also participated in the Ceremony and opined that Significant Lessons on Governance and Team Dynamics are learnt best in School than later in life.

Krithya P, School Pupil Leader, proposed the Vote of Thanks on behalf of the Office Bearers and profusely thanked the School, the teachers, parents and all the peers for reposing faith in the TEAM. She assured every one of the Council Members’ concerted efforts to live up to their Roles and Responsibilities.
