INTERACTIVE SESSION ON BIORESEARCH IN PHARMACEUTICAL  AND ALLIED INDUSTRY

 

Scientists from Kavin Bioresearch Lab addressed the students of Biology from Class XI and XII on 23rd September, 2017 in an interactive  session about the usage of current Biological Techniques in Pharmaceutical Industry.

Dr.Kalyan, a renowned Research Scientist and a Parent of the School talked to the students about effective career choices, scope of  Biotechnology, Microbiology in Pharmaceutical Industry.

The interactive session raised the levels of academic anticipation and scientific curiosity in the audience. The session was enjoyed by teachers and students alike.

Delving deeper into the subject, Dr.Kalyan elaborated on the evolution of medicine, drug testing and clinical trials of drugs, thus informing the students about hither to unknown areas of  biology.

The session was then taken over by Dr.Vinitha Lakshmi, a reputed Research Scientist who gave in-depth information about the lucrative field of In-vitro Cell Culture. She gave the students insight into his techniques of  Micro Propagation and Cell Culture.

After a brief intermission, the session resumed with explanation about drug trials, transgenic animals, ethical aspects of drug- testing, marketing and an  in-depth  visual representation of ‘Cancer’ – the life – threatening disease.

The four hour session came to an end with the team highlighting their work in the field of Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industry and urging the students to come forward for collaborative research.

Overall, it was an engaging and informative brainstorming session.
