DIWALI  CELEBRATIONS

"May the supreme light illumine your mind, enlighten your hearts, and strengthen the human bonds."

Diwali the festival of lights that enlightens the hearts and brings joy to every heart was celebrated with great zeal and vigour on 25th October, 2019 in the School Assembly ground.

The celebration began with the D.A.V Gaan followed by Gayatri Mantra.

Deepta Ravindran welcomed the audience with her eloquent speech. The students of Std. II in the ethnic costumes spread the spirit of  Diwali through a captivating dance performance  to foot tapping music.

A short skit that unfolded the mythological tale of Diwali was enacted by the students of  Std. IV.  Dressed up as various characters from the Epic - Ramayana,  the students brought the myth to life flawlessly.  The skit depicted Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya after vanquishing Ravana in the battle and rescuing Sita from the evil clutches of Ravana.  The performance by the students left an indelible impact on the audience.

Students of Std. III presented an informative skit on 'Safe Diwali'. They enlightened the spectators on the need to 'Say no to crackers' and what need to be done in case of a mishap while lighting crackers and lamps.

A mesmerising group song on Diwali 'Mithi ke diya jalana' by students of Std. VI brought out the essence of the festival.

An energetic dance performance by the students of Std. V to the beats of  'Happy Diwali' highlighted the festivity and good cheer of the festival.

The exuberance among the students added to the charisma of the festival.  The Programme thrust on understanding the needs of the socially and economically backward people. The performances urged the audience to buy the products from the villagers too. After all, the true spirit of Diwali is about Sharing and Caring!!
