'Aids to Tackle AIDS'

World AIDS Day was observed on December 1,2018 in the School premises.

The students of Std VII enthusiastically participated in the Awareness Programme and hosted the events.

The programme commenced with an enlightening 'Trilingual' speech on the deadly disease (AIDS) and about the virus (HIV) that causes the epidemic. The speech was an eye - opener that shed light on the causes and symptoms of the disease. The young D.A.Vites paid rapt attention to the vital information pronounced by their peers.

The skit on AIDS - 'It’s not their fault' highlighted the social stigma that the HIV affected have to suffer. The 'actors' poignantly portrayed the sufferings of the affected and drove home the message that discrimination against the HIV positive is a crime. The climax of the skit trained the young minds to treat the 'ill' and ‘affected’ with respect, equality and dignity.

A powerful talk show reiterated that AIDS is treated as taboo because of the misconceptions and ignorance among common people. The talk show put forward facts about the deadly disease and cautioned the learner of the practices that can make one fall prey to the disease.

The Awareness Programme proved to be an educative and enlightening experience.
