"Education Is Not The Learning Of Facts, But The Training Of The Mind To Think."

National Education Day was celebrated with great verve and enthusiasm in the school recently, to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad who was a great freedom fighter, an eminent educationist and the first Union Minister of Education.

As part of the celebration, various activities were organized for students of Std. VI to X including Essay Writing Competition, Elocution Competition, Seminar and Slogan writing.

The Kinesthetic and Musical Skills exhibited by students of Std. VI and VII through a scintillating Song and Dance performance, which was part of the Skit, was not only a visual treat but also emphasized  the need for enhancing the literacy rate, especially in rural India.

The School echoed with Slogans presented by students of Std. VII which read 'Education for all', 'Each one teach one' etc. The endeavour was to create awareness about the life-changing role of education.

Students of Std. VIII showcased their eloquence by delivering Speech on the topic  'Education - need of the hour' amidst loud cheers of applause.

Students of Class IX performed an inspiring Talk Show highlighting the poignant incidents in the lives of the 'Iron lady' Dr. Kiran Bedi and the 'Missile Man' Dr. Abdul Kalam, and their commitment to different aspects of education.

In the Essay Writing Competition conducted for students of Std. X, the focus was on the positive influence of education in a student's life.

The icing on the cake was the rhythmic rendition of Poems and ‘Thirukkural’ based on Education.

The commemoration did reinforce that education is the most powerful weapon that can change the world.
