In accordance with the guidelines issued by Regional Office, C.B.S.E., Chennai, the National Leprosy Eradication Programme was conducted in the School Premises on 23.07.2018. Mrs. Minoo Aggarwal, Principal, students from Class VII to X, Teaching and Non - Teaching Staff, besides many parents participated in the Programme.

The gathering was addressed by Mr. Maria Aruputha Swamy, District Health Educator on the nature of 'Leprosy' and importance of prevention. The air borne nature of leprosy Bacillus, the infection caused, the external signs of infection such as red patches with Anaesthesia thickening of nerves are noticed and the incubation period of the Mycobacterium leprae for as long as 40 years and the methods of early detection and treatment etc., were explained in simple language to the gathering.

The Medical Team consisting of Health Inspectors conducted 'screening' of 1315 students of Std. II to VII on the same day. No early signs of infection was noticed among the screened students. Information leaflets were also distributed.
