16  Proud D.A.Vites of Grade XI and XII  of D.A.V. Public School took charge as the Office Bearers of the Student Council for the Academic Year 2018-2019 on 22nd June, 2018.

This year the School Cabinet was formed after a free and fair democratic election thus imparting new lessons on Student Polity and marking a significant beginning of the Academic Session.

Professor. Dr. S.Sivasubramanian, Former Vice Chancellor, Madurai Kamaraj University and Noorul Islam University presided over the Swearing-In- Ceremony as the Chief Guest.

In his address, Prof. Dr. S.Sivasubramanian encouraged the students to be leaders not because they have a 'badge' but because each one is a born leader and is bestowed with Leadership Skills. Sheer dedication, diligence, honesty and integrity, he said are the traits of a True Leader. He also applauded the School for the commendable results in the AISSCE - Board Examination 2018.

The new Council Members were inducted by the Chief Guest  who also pinned the badges while the Principal, Mrs. Minoo Aggarwal handed over the School Flags and placards symbolic of their duties and capacity in the Student Council.

The Flag Bearers  were welcomed by their peers and juniors with loud cheers and applause as the young leaders enthusiastically paraded in their spectacular formal attire with new promise and vigour.        

The Oath was administered by the School Pupil Leader, Achyuth Nambiar of Class XII.

The School Pupil Leader (Girls), Prathiksha Murugavel expressed her views on ‘Leadership Is The Capacity To Translate Vision Into Reality’. She stressed on the 3 Cs of the School Ethos - Competence, Conscience and Compassion and also stated how students are moulded into responsible individuals.

 The Cultural Secretary , Srinarayani.V reiterated that initiative is a powerful tool for progress and Nation Building. She said the young Indians should belong to the tribe who "make things happen and not ones who wonder what happened".

Mukundan.A ,  Assistant School Pupil Leader (Boys) assessed the ‘Challenges, A Leader Faces In Today's Era Of  Technological Explosion And Information Overload'.

All the Council Members who  gave voice to the School Cabinet resonated  the School Pupil Leader (Boys) that they are ‘The Change Makers’ and "change they say will stay till more good comes the way ...".

The Principal urged the Council Members to develop a positive mindset and work with determination for the betterment of the institute and society at large.

Ananya Sreekanth, the Assistant School Pupil Leader (Girls) proposed the Vote of Thanks and assured the School Management of  ''Total Commitment to the Roles and Responsibilities of a Council Member''.
