Teacher's Day Celebrations 2017-2018

"Guruveh Namah"

The Birth Anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan is dedicated to all the teachers from across the length and breadth of the Indian sub-continent. This day, that falls on the 5th of September celebrates the simple yet passionate souls who are committed to the cause of education and render selfless service to the young learners.

D.A.V. Public School, Chennai hosted a special cultural programme in honour of the teachers on the Day. The students of Std. XI and XII shouldered the responsibility of playing hosts of the Day's celebration.

The programme commenced with a soulful rendition to Lord Ganesha.

Pratiksha of Std. XI highlighted the noteworthy contribution made by Dr. Radhakrishnan in a tribute to the "Teacher of Teachers".

Aswathy Mariam Varghese of Std. XII shed light on the lives of a few teachers who touched the lives of students, leaving an indelible imprint and changing lives of many who were inspired by their thoughts. A few teachers narrated anecdotes of their role models who inculcated love for teaching in them.

A classical dance and western dance performance pepped up the spirits of the audience. A stand-up comedy on 'Celebrities attending an interview for a teacher vacancy', left the onlookers in splits and asking for more!!

'Sing-along' and 'Tangy Beats' was a feast to the ears of the ardent music lovers. The melodies of the vocalists, Beat boxing and the rich instrumental music filled the air with cheers.

The soaring temperature did not stall the teachers from playing the all time favourite, 'Musical Chair', 'Dumb Charades' and 'Mathee Yosi'. The fighter in them was visible as they ran, mimed and jabbered all just 'to be the hero' of their Students!!

The Principal, Mrs. Minoo Aggarwal applauded the efforts of the students who made the special day a remarkable and memorable one.

A personal copy of 'Teacher Plus' - 'a magazine for the Contempory Teacher' with its Annual Subscription was presented to each teacher on the special occasion.
