"You can chain me, you can torture me, you can even destroy this body,

But, you can never make a change in my mind, to stop 'Quit India' movement"

                                                                                                                                                    - Mahatma Gandhi

The sacrifices of freedom fighters between 1857 and 1942 inspire us to build a Great Nation. Just like the Nation put on a huge fight to uproot British rule, the students of D.A.V. Public School, Velachery, Chennai celebrated 'Quit India Day' on  August 9, 2017 in School Premises between     9 a.m and 9.45 a.m.

The Students of Std. VIII enthusiastically performed a skit about the Contribution and Sacrifice of the Leaders of Tamil Nadu. It showed leaders like  K. Kamaraj, S. Sathya Murthi and many others who were arrested for protesting against the British. The slogan 'Do or Die' and the savage act done by police of pre-independent India was portrayed emotionally by the Students. The skit concluded with the celebration of hard earned Independence. At the end of the skit the values were highlighted by the comperers for young Indians to understand and practice the same.

The skit was followed by a mesmerising dance, performed by seven girls and four boys. The dance programme made the students carry the message of patriotism.

Principal, Mrs. Minoo Aggarwal appreciated the efforts put by the Students which provoked a patriotic feeling in all of us.
