REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS

D.A.V. Public School witnessed an eventful celebration of the 70th Republic Day on 26th January, 2019, within the school premises.

The students of all the classes came together to pay a fitting tribute to the Republic Nation and renew their patriotic promise to the Motherland.

The Tricolour was hoisted  jointly  by the Principal, School Staff, Parents and Students. As the National Flag unfurled, the audience saluted with utmost reverence. The Flag fluttering , National Anthem resonating and hearts beating, who would not know that feeling!!

The Tamil Flag Song 'Thaayin Manikodi paareer' kindled the patriotism and moved the audience as  patriotic fervour 'oozed out'.

A Tamil Talk Show threw light on the need for Indian Citizens to understand his 'Roles and Responsibilities' in a Republic Nation. The points of the talk show highlighted the social issues that plague our country, need to change the attitude and outlook of the new gen and the revamp in our economy to make it the 'Dream Nation'.

An eye - opening discussion on the Significance of Republic Day in the Current Scenario deliberated on the prominent place of 'Republic' in the Preamble of our Constitution and in our lives too.  

A popular patriotic song in Hindi 'Ae Watan Mere Watan' pepped up the mood and 'josh' of the audience. It had an innovative aspect to it too. The 'Cubers' of Std. IX had the Rubiks Cube solved and arranged in the 3 colours duplicating the flag.

What's a celebration without a dance performance? A mash up medley with lightning steps and 'josh bhara' musical numbers completed the choreography of a stupendous dance recital.

The School Council Members, Mukundan. A and Ananya Sreekanth gave an insightful talk on "Small Steps, Mighty Leaps.  Little Initiatives, Major Changes". They encouraged the D.A.Vites to participate in social initiatives and campaigns to 'Be the change' and save the Democracy. The speakers underlined the active participation of the school in 'Behtar India', 'Swachh Abhiyan', Paryatan Parv, and many more that instills service mindedness and duty consciousness towards our country.

The celebration concluded with the cry of 'Jai Hind' and How's the Josh .. High Sir !

The day was indeed filled with JOSH.
